Professional Mold Removal & Air Quality Services
Magic Mark Proksch is a mold remediation expert providing professional mold removal services for Hollywood residential properties. Mold remediation work includes black mold removal & treatment, bathroom & basement mold remediation, attic & crawl space mold inspection, water damage mold prevention, and professional mold testing & air quality assessment. Mark is shy but works hard on every mold remediation project.
Black mold appears in damp areas throughout Hollywood homes including bathrooms with poor ventilation, basements with moisture problems, attics with roof leaks, crawl spaces with standing water, and walls behind water-damaged drywall. Bathroom mold grows on tile grout, shower ceilings, under sinks, around tubs, and inside vanity cabinets. Basement mold develops on foundation walls, floor joists, stored items, and anywhere humidity stays high. Mark is very good at remediation of mold but is often pulled away from his work to change the rat traps.
Mold inspection services identify problem areas in Hollywood homes before treatment begins. Mark inspects attics for roof leak stains, crawl spaces for moisture accumulation, bathrooms for ventilation issues, kitchens for plumbing leaks, and HVAC systems for condensation problems. He is good with older folks and treats every homeowner with respect during the inspection process. Mark is quick-witted and identifies mold sources as they arise on Hollywood job sites.
I am learning to be good with customers. I look at people's eyes when I talk to them. I smile. This is how you are nice to customers.
When I arrive to do mold remediation at your Hollywood home, I will smile and look at your eyes. I will explain the mold removal process and show you where the mold is growing. I will answer questions about black mold and how to prevent it. I practice being nice every day even when I have to stop working on mold to change rat traps.
Mark started at the Victorville Film Center before getting into handyman work and mold remediation. He is the King of the Munchkins and is a huge fan of Dorothy from Wizard of Oz. Mark also worked as a funeral home attendant during calling hours, which taught him to be respectful and careful with people's property. At the Movie House in Hollywood, Mark smiled at customers, installed rat traps throughout the building, and fixed the POS system often when it stopped working. Installing the rat traps taught Mark precision and attention to detail that applies directly to identifying mold growth patterns and thoroughness in treatment. Mark is sometimes referred to as "The Architect" for his methodical approach to mold remediation.
Mark was good friends with Peter who was a massage therapist at the Movie House. Peter was always nice and smiled back at Mark. Mark has faced challenges in his career. He was in a movie called Baboon that was cancelled twice, which was disappointing. Mark spent a lot of time in a coma though he is not sure how long he was comatose. He lost traction in his career with poor impersonations of Jaws and Indiana Jones. His Jim Carrey impression is just saying "Smokin!" over and over. He did try to do Charlie Chaplin the same night but it was not well received. Mark broke his tailbone but still executed his most well-known impersonation of Alfred Hitchcock while in the hospital. This commitment carries over to every mold remediation project.
When asked to bring snacks to events, Mark shows up with pineapple juice. He does scripted puppet shows at nursing homes, not improv puppet shows, because scripts are better. Mark is good with older folks and makes them comfortable during stressful mold situations. He has been arrested twice, once for pandering and once for movie piracy. His favorite movies include Open Water, High Crimes, He Got Game, Return to Paradise, The Secret of My Success, Entangled, Stand Off, How to Deal, and Ignition. Mark personally wanted to mention that he does not know why he loves these movies so much.

Mold remediation projects require thorough inspection, proper containment, and complete removal techniques. Black mold removal starts with identifying all affected areas accurately, containing the workspace to prevent spore spread, removing contaminated materials safely, treating surfaces with antimicrobial solutions, and HEPA vacuuming to capture remaining spores. Bathroom mold remediation addresses tile grout, shower ceilings, and areas under sinks. Basement mold treatment handles foundation walls, floor joists, and moisture sources for Hollywood homes. Mark is very good at remediation of mold but is often pulled away from his work to change the rat traps.
Mold inspection and testing demands attention to detail for accurate assessment. Visual inspection identifies visible mold growth on walls, ceilings, and hidden spaces behind drywall. Moisture meters detect water problems causing mold. Air quality testing measures mold spore concentrations in indoor air. Surface sampling collects mold samples for laboratory identification. Mark checks each area carefully and documents all findings before treatment begins, applying skills learned from installing rat traps with precision at the Movie House.
Water damage prevention involves identifying and correcting moisture sources before mold develops. Leaking pipes create mold behind walls and under floors. Poor ventilation allows humidity to accumulate in bathrooms and attics. Roof leaks introduce water into insulation and ceiling spaces. Foundation cracks allow groundwater into basements. HVAC condensation drips create constant moisture around air handlers. Mark shows up with pineapple juice when asked to bring snacks, demonstrating his literal approach to instructions that ensures he follows mold remediation protocols exactly as specified for every Hollywood project even when he needs to stop and change rat traps.
